Presentation Description:

Studying abroad, students leave their comfort zones and challenge their assumptions helping them learn to engage in a multicultural world. How do we provide this same opportunity for campus-bound students? Virginia Tech is developing a technology toolkit aimed to

1) Make global engagement come alive for students in the U.S.

2) Support the continuity of long-term community engagement projects.

3) Showcase study abroad's importance to campus.

Attendees will learn how to develop this toolkit and leverage it for virtual exchanges, community engagement, and program marketing.

Learning Objectives:

identify available technology that can help make global engagement come alive for students in the U.S.
discover innovative ways to shepherd long-term community engagement projects through changing cohorts of students
develop a collaborative approach to showcase impact and importance of study abroad to the greater campus community
