Presentation Description: This workshop introduces participants to basic aspects of nutrition - diet, digestion, sleep, movement and stress - and the role these aspects play in learning, memory and emotional regulation. Participants will evaluate their own nutritional status and lifestyle habits, and we will discuss strategies to make lasting lifestyle habit changes that will result in more effective and efficient learning, memory and emotional regulation - for educators and those they serve. This workshop includes a PPT presentation, with heavy emphasis on research, examples and references.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this presentation, participants will clearly understand how nutrition, sleep and exercise habits impact learning, memory and emotional regulation.
By the end of this presentation, participants will have set at least 1 new habit change goal, and an accountability partner to partner with.
By the end of this presentation, participants will strategize how to apply these learnings to enhance their overall effectiveness in personal and professional life.
